This is the support page for the Brevida Nasal Pillow CPAP Mask, and serves as a one stop shop for your post-purchase questions. This page is conveniently organized into four sections, which can be easily accessed by clicking below.
Q Is headgear required for this item?
A Yes, headgear is required for this item. Although it is included in this purchase, you can buy additional headgear HERE. However, if your mask frame and cushion have worn out but your headgear is still functioning properly, you can purchase the assembly kit HERE.
Q What needs to be included on my prescription?
A If a mask is the only item in your order that requires a prescription, your prescription is only required to state that it is for CPAP supplies, although you can also use a prescription for a CPAP machine. If you are purchasing other products that require a prescription, such as a humidifier, CPAP machine, or an oral appliance, the specific requirements for that prescription will be listed in the FAQ's of that product page.
Introduction
Fitting
Nasal pillow seals are constantly in direct contact with your face, with the nasal pillows resting inside your nose all night. To avoid hygienic issues, reduced quality of therapy, and improper mask usage, you should to replace your nasal pillow seals regularly. To purchase, check out the Nasal Pillow Seals for the Brevida Nasal Pillow CPAP Mask HERE. These should be replaced every 14 days.
CPAP mask tubing is susceptible to developing small holes or tears which may not even be visible to the naked eye. These can cause air leaks, and if your tube is leaking, you may not receive your prescribed therapy setting from your CPAP. This may cause you to feel as if your sleep therapy is not working properly, even though it is. Therefore, you should replace your tubing (Check out some tubing offered by ApriaDirect HERE) once every three months.
Your frame system is in close proximity to your face, and therefore needs to be replaced frequently. However, it is not directly touching your face, which is why it doesn't need to be replaced quite so often. We do not sell the standalone Brevida frame, but we do sell the Brevida Nasal Pillow CPAP Mask Assembly Kit, which includes a Brevida Nasal Pillow Seal Frame, and everything else besides the headgear and can be purchased HERE. The Brevida Nasal Pillow CPAP Mask should be replaced once every three months.
Over time, your CPAP headgear and chin straps may become stretched and lose their elasticity, leading to over-tightening and discomfort. They can also trap bacteria from sweat and moisture. Therefore, your Brevida Nasal Pillow CPAP Headgear, which can be purchased HERE, should be replaced every six months.
