APAP (Automatic Positive Airway Pressure) machines are similar to CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) machines. Both devices provide non-invasive treatment for sleep apnea, delivering pressurized air to sleep apnea patients, keeping their airways free of obstructions as they sleep.
APAP machines have two settings: a low range setting and a high range setting. The APAP machine fluctuates throughout the night between the two settings, automatically adjusting itself to suit your personal needs at any given moment throughout your sleep. APAP machines use algorithms that allow them to sense even the subtlest of changes in your breathing, allow them to auto-adjust to the optimal pressure settings at any time of night.
